We had a great stay in Wonthaggi with the inspiring, independent traveller and Airbnb host, Lisbeth (who arrived in Oz with her mum, dad and 10 siblings from Holland in the 1960s!). Whilst heading to visit ‘rellies’ in Mornington, and after driving in Oz for over 2500km, we had a car crash just 10 minutes from Jane’s house, with a car hitting us on the passenger side at a junction. Amazing ambulance crew – James (from Shoreham, Oz!) looked after me and took me to hospital, whilst Jane met Tony for the first time on the side of the road with all our bags. The staff at Dandenong hospital gave me a full MOT and after 5 hours was sent home with the all clear and my CT scan results – indicating amongst other things – that I have an “unremarkable bladder”!! Somewhat bruised and battered – we were well looked after by our guardian angels Jane and Derek.
