A lazy day, finally! Got up early to watch the sunrise at the Golden Mile beach, where everyone was arriving with surf boards and dogs to walk. Hired bikes and cycled along the prom, drank coffee, read our books and were entertained by slam poets at Cafe Circus. Drive home via the botanical gardens est. 1846 where we saw what we thought was a magnolia tree full of huge blossom but was in fact huge white birds – Ibis? The evening rounded off with a jazz night at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where we got a discount for being pensioners!!! Result!!!
